Hooters girls fired for being 'fat'

If you are a family friendly restaurant with a wholesome image, why would you fire someone for being too fat?

Or is it because, in fact, Hooters merely wish to perpetuate a narrow view that sees women as only and always sex objects, rather than as full human beings?

Statement

We believe Hooters is a further step in normalising the sexualisation of women and girls. It is part of a spectrum that says it is OK to degrade women and treat them as objects.

Hooters Girls (even that is sexist!) have to sign a contract saying they understand the Hooters brand is based on female sex appeal and are OK with being harassed.

We believe Hooters are encouraging the idea that women are objects, that Hooters discriminates against men and minority groups, and Hooters are normalising sexual harassment.
